Gas Stoves

Gas stoves are more popular now than ever before. Below are some of the reasons we feel this is the case.
Efficiency
Over the last few years, wood burners have taken the limelight when it comes to running costs. In more recent times however, people have become more aware of gas stoves and the fact they are just as efficient as their solid fuel equivalents. A good gas stove will achieve around 80% efficiency which is on par with a quality wood burner.
Convenience
Once a gas stove has been installed there is no need to carry out any maintenance. Other than an annual service there is no need to interact with it other than to control it. Log burning stoves require purchasing and storing wood, building fires each day and cleaning them out the following morning. They can also make more of a mess on your hearth when loading and cleaning.
Product range
The choice is now bigger than ever compared to just a few years ago. Some of the better manufacturers include DRU, Gazco, Hunter, Parkray, Legend and Town & Country.
Cost
As long as you have a working chimney you don’t necessarily need to have it lined, as would with a log burning stove. This means a saving of £400 – £600 before you even have your product installed. With different regulations there are certain materials that don’t need to be ‘overengineered’ like with solid fuel. This makes an additional saving, freeing up your budget for other things like a beam or fireplace.
Should you want style with convenience at a fair price, we would highly recommend gas stoves.
