The type of chimney you have could affect your options when it comes to gas fires in Whitefield. Class 1 chimneys are brick built with a stack at the top and can house any type of gas fires including inset and built in hole-in-the-wall gas fires. If you’re unsure if you have this just look up at your roof to give you an indication.
Houses made circa 1980 and later could have a class 2 or precast flue. This means you have limited space and may require fires known as slimline. The other option would be an outset gas fire which sits proud of the chimney breast – these fires tend to be more traditional in style.
